Their contributions merit a resounding ovation, and their unwavering commitment has been instrumental since the society's inception in 1988.
The Weed Science Society of Pakistan is poised to incorporate diverse workshops, cultural events, and field excursions as key objectives in the days ahead. Our highly anticipated 9th International and 18th National Conference on Biodiversity and Medicinal Plants, themed "A Way Forward to Sustainable Development," is slated for December 14-16, 2023, at Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
We extend an invitation to regional and local Weed Science Societies to join forces with the Weed Science Society of Pakistan, fostering stronger connections with weed scientists and students from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and other regions where Weed Science is burgeoning. Recognition is due to the ongoing support from the Pakistan Science Foundation, whose generous financial contributions have facilitated the execution of our scientific endeavors.
To further enrich our community, we encourage young Weed Scientists and students to join the Weed Science Society of Pakistan, offering various incentives that benefit both individuals and the scientific community. Our commitment is to inspire and involve young weed scientists by integrating them into committees and events, and we express gratitude for their active support through volunteering time and energy.
As I embark on my next tenure as President of WSSP, it is both an honor and a pleasure to continue serving the weed research community in Pakistan and beyond.
